First up...Amy's Bachelorette Party!
Blake and I arrived home just in time to be in the thick of wedding planning. There was a bit of drama including an almost butchered wedding dress by an unnamed bridal shop in Peterborough, but everything worked out beautifully in the end. One of the privileges I had as the sister of the bride was to plan an unforgettable party that would make my sister feel so very loved and special. Here are some photos from the night.
We dressed my sister up in a beautiful dress from the 1980's (courtesy of Heather Anderson who found it at Value Village) and gave her some gloves, crown and a veil for her special night. We took her out to Boston Pizza for dinner and only one couple asked to be moved away from us! We then had a list of activities that Amy had to complete in and around Wal-Mart. It was hilarious watching the faces of the people looking at Amy. One little boy stood in awe as we walked in and said to his mom, "Mommy...who is she? She is beeeauutiful!" We whole-heartedly agreed! There are a few photos here of the different activities Amy needed to do before she was allowed to go home.
Below: Chris also had some wonderful friends who wanted to make him feel special too!
One of the final moments for Amy was standing outside of Wal-Mart with a sign asking for donations for the honeymoon. One of the reasons we saved it for last was that we feared we may have been asked to leave and that would have been a real shame. Much to our surprise, the Wal-Mart staff thought that it was absolutely hilarious and joined right in on the fun by helping out with the tasks and then taking pictures. Amy stood outside and raised the $5 she needed in no time flat- I think more so because people felt sorry for her!
All in all...I think she felt very special and now has so many memories of an unforgettable night! Yes...I think I accomplished my duty as maid of honour with flying colours...if I do say so myself! ;) I'm so glad I got married first because I have no doubt there would have been some intense revenge!
